Hello!
I’d like to share my plans for the first update of my app. My main focus will be on improving the visual aspects and enhancing the interface’s intuitiveness, which will lead to a better user experience.
New Look and Better Navigation
To start, I’ll refresh the app’s appearance by modifying the header and navigation bar (tab bar). The most significant changes will affect the photo browsing screen – the core of this view will now be photo cards, and some unnecessary elements will be removed, making the app more modern and visually appealing.
New Gestures for Improved Navigation
The new version of the app will introduce a completely new set of gestures to make photo browsing smoother and more intuitive:
- Swipe left – move to the next photo
- Swipe right – go back to the previous photo
- Swipe down – mark the photo for deletion
- Tap – preview the photo
- Long press – holding the left side of the photo will take you to the first photo, while holding the right side will take you to the last one
Thanks to these changes, browsing large photo collections will be even faster and more convenient.
Additional Enhancements
Besides these major updates, several smaller improvements will also be introduced:
- A photo filtering icon will replace the clickable date option
- Ability to preview photos from the trash
- A warning popup before emptying the trash when switching months
- A new informational view about the app in the settings
- A tab linking to the app’s homepage
Summary
The goal of the first update is to improve the user experience and introduce a few additional features. In future versions, I’ll focus on expanding the app’s capabilities, which I’ll discuss in upcoming posts.
